Ignore my reflection in the Naked palette packaging.. oops!
Hey, I know it's now the 28th of February so a post about my Valentines Day out fit seems a bit odd however I figured better late than never. Being the naughty blogger that I am, I forgot to take some photos on the actual date so that's why the second photo is laid out like this and for the first one I actually got dressed into the outfit I wore! Valentines Day was quite eventful as after the usual boring college stuff, I went into town and didn't return till around 3:30 (which is what time Joe finishes at). Me and Joe had agreed to exchange cards after college and as I got home slightly earlier, I'd arranged his things out along with some donuts and some paracetamol for his mouth ulcer (ha!). When he got home, he gave me a beautiful red rose and some Oreo chocolate (my favourite) then told me to go upstairs. There, he presented me with a Milk Tray, a huuuuuge card, some maltesers and Urban Decay's Naked palette. He knew I'd been lusting after one ever since seeing Gabbie's one in real life and falling in love. Honestly, I am in love. Ever since receiving it 2 weeks ago, I haven't stopped using it. Oh, and if I'm not using it I'm staring at it! It also came with a sample size bottle of their infamous Primer Potion which I love. Expect a review in the near future! After receiving my lovely gifts, I then gave Joe his which he appeared to be made up with so I'm happy about that as I really put a lot of effort into thinking of them. Anyway, enough about gifts.. I had originally wanted to book the resaurant for 7:30pm so me and Joe had it all planned out and we were going to get the train around 6:45/7:00pm which we were on time for. Whilst I was doing my makeup, a light bulb went off in my head and I'd realized the resaurant was booked for 7:00pm instead! What a moron.. I told Joe and it all went a bit chaotic. I was putting on my eyelashes and rushing to plait my hair! I then had to choose an outfit. Oh the stress! After trying on a few things, I decided on this outfit. The shoes scare me. Honestly, they terrify me! I've never been one for heels but I figured why not get some after a shoe-related disaster at a friend's 18th birthday. I was scared to move in the restaurant as the toilets were down some stairs, not good! I'd survived going the toilet however as we were leaving, the worst happened; I fell down the stairs. It was only a few but it wasn't good considering there was a bar full of people watching me. Red faced, I tried to leave only to find my arm had gotten caught in the heart shaped balloons that lined the stairs. Total embarrassment! I fell because of the shoes not because of the ONE cocktail I had drunk mother!
After what seems like the longest intro in the history of the Blogging world, onto my outfit! As I was in a massive rush, I decided on this beautiful emerald green dress from Forever 21. It was a bargain at only £12.00 and its in my favourite material - velvet! I decided on this in the end as I know it fits well and makes me feel somewhat okay with myself. Its not too short so there's no bum flashing here as well as being not too low cut so no tiny-boob display either. Overall, its a really great dress and I would highly recommend getting one!
I paired my lovely dress with this beautiful bag I recently got. I'd been after a clutch bag and that exact reason was why I went to town on Valentine's day in the first place. I was instantly drawn to it as the size, colour and pattern appealed to me. It was from Primark's Limited Edition collection meaning it was slightly expensive for Primark at £10.00 but still a bargain when compared to the likes of Topshop and Zara. When going out, I'm more drawn to gold colours so the gold detailing on this bag is just perfect for me. I can see myself getting quite a bit of wear out of this beauty and I already have a pretty outfit planned with it.
For accessories, I chose quite a few considering my dress is quite simple. It's a classic shape and all one colour so I wanted to spice things up a bit and make it a bit more interesting. I chose my River Island belt as to be honest, I've never not got this belt on. It fits me perfectly around the waist and goes with anything; love! I actually have two (which I'm not complaining about!) as I bought two pairs of trousers from RI both of which came with this belt. In terms of jewellry, I',m not a massive bracelet person so I chose to not add in any and just keep it simple with my Pandora bracelet that I received as an 18th birthday gift of Joe's dad and step-mum. It has no charms on which I like as I'm not really into them too much as well as being a super pretty light pink colour. Thinking about my Pandora makes me sad as about a week ago, it ever so sadly got flushed down the toilet :'( I take it off when going in the bath, and afterwards I was picking it off the window ledge whilst the toilet was flushing and now sadly it is no more. *sobs* For necklaces, I chose this one as I absolutely love it. It's a mixture of gold and silver which makes it extremely versatile and I thought that the jewel-toned blue ribbon running through it complimented the jewel-like colour of my dress.
In terms of shoes, I wore these scary things! At 6", they're not low which is a bit terrifying to a heel-novice like me and as you can tell from my story, they didn't go too well. Hey ho, they're pretty and I like them so who cares! They're a classic and I can tell we are going to be with each other for a long long time.
I also chose to wear my absolutely gorgeous coat that Joe got me for my birthday as lets face it, I live in England! It was freezing and I was made up to have this pretty little thing wrapped around me. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of it but the coat is designed in the style of a classic biker coat however the material, fur and gold detailing make it feel more sophisticated and way more luxurious that it's £34.99 price tag! Definite bargain.
So, we're at the end of this extremely long post! I hope you enjoyed reading it :)
